Hi, my name is Erin Christensen. I'm a project manager, artist, and ocean conservationist.
About me
My fascination with the ocean started early—an unusual passion for a kid growing up on the Canadian prairies. Although I first channelled my expertise and passions as a jewellery artist, I’ve come full circle by building a career in ocean conservation, driven by a desire to create meaningful change.
With eight years of experience managing projects across both creative and conservation sectors, I’ve found my stride in leading teams and projects, streamlining processes, solving problems, and driving impact.
I’m a curious, growth-minded professional who thrives in dynamic, rapidly evolving environments and loves turning big ideas into actionable plans.
Project Management Professional
I revel in meaningful projects that require meticulous problem-solving and creativity. I have a proven track record of delivering impactful results aligned with strategic plans, building strong partnerships, and fostering engaging and supportive workplace environments. I recently completed a Project and Change Management certification to enhance my skills and knowledge and contribute to global sustainability goals.

JEWELLERY Artist
I began my career as an art jeweller and silversmith after receiving a BFA in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing from NSCAD University. Following my graduation, I was awarded a finalist position for the Niche Awards in the Student Teapot category and featured in several publications, including British Vogue Magazine and the Contemporary Jewellery Yearbook. My work has since been exhibited in galleries across North America and Europe, and I have received a few awards.
Currently, I am sharing my knowledge by teaching at Stairway Studio in Victoria, BC.

Ocean Conservationist
I have long been passionate about coral reef conservation, and my mission is to continue using my skills and experience to make a meaningful impact for the Ocean. To expand my knowledge of coral reef restoration, I completed an internship with Blue Corner Marine Conservation and multiple research projects on this topic as part of my BA in Environmental Practice from Royal Roads University. I volunteered as a research assistant with The University of Queensland’s Marine Spatial Ecology Lab and attended the Reef Futures 2024 conference.

I had the pleasure of being part of the selection panel that interviewed Erin, and then working with her over the following year. Her professionalism, calm and organized demeanour, kindness, and broader perspective were exceptional. I would have liked the opportunity to work more closely with Erin, particularly on project and strategic work, but unfortunately that wasn’t meant to be.
Erin is a real asset to any organization and, from what I observed among both colleagues and her direct reports, was highly valued and appreciated by those around her. She will be greatly missed, and I have no doubt she will be a fantastic addition wherever she goes next.
